Echoes of Owingsville

Same blog – just doing some updating!

About Me

Hey! I’m Ginger Kincaid and I live in Owingsville, KY, a very small town about 45 minutes east of Lexington. I started this blog several years ago to share bits of local history my late father-in-law, William Burl Kincad II had written in his journals. My late husband was mayor of Owingsville for eight years, serving on the city council many years before that. He was spoonfed local history and lore from the time he could walk, and he so enjoyed helping write up posts and recalling stories his dad had told him. I think he would be glad I’m continuing on with what we both started.

All that said, losing him changed me. For me, he was the best part of Owingsville – definitely the most interesting part. My grown sons encourage me to get out more or [GASP] to even move. They mean well, but I’m not moving. I will, however, get out more.

So what’s left to tell about me. I’m a mom and a “Grammy.” I’m a United Methodist. I’m a liberal but love intelligent takes from the other side. I work part-time from home doing freelance work, and I also have an Etsy shop where I sell jewelry. I do volunteer work with a local non-profit. I have two senior dogs, and four young cats. I like to crochet, read good horror, and stream interesting shows and movies.

Thanks for stopping by!
